'Becoming the new feminine ideal requires just the right combination of insecurity, exercise, bulimia and surgery.'- G. B. Trudeau
Plastic surgery is a multi-faceted medical specialty that combines form, function, technique, and principle. Plastic surgery is the only field in medicine where art and science combine to bring miraculous results. There are various aspects of Plastic Surgery such as Aesthetic Surgery, Craniofacial surgery, Hand Surgery, Reconstructive Microsurgery, Burns and General Plastic Surgery. Plastic surgery is basically "molding or shaping surgery" just as the word "plastic" suggest.
Aesthetic plastic surgery is performed to rehabilitate a particular part of the body but this in turn enhances the appearance through surgical and medical techniques. The surgery is specifically aimed at maintaining normal appearance, restoring it, or enhancing it to some aesthetic ideal. Breast augmentation, liposuction, nasal surgery, eyelid surgery and abdominoplasty are the five most commonly performed aesthetic surgeries.
MTI offers some advanced treatments to enhance your appearance. Have a look into it:-
Abdominoplasty or "Tummy Tuck"
Abdominoplasty also known as "tummy tuck" makes the abdomen more firm and flat through a cosmetic surgery procedure. In the process excess skin and fat are removed from the middle and lower abdomen. The surgery tightens the muscle and fascia of the abdominal wall. This type of surgery is good for both men and women who have sagging skin after major weight loss. Mostly pregnant women prefer this type of cosmetic treatment to flatten the loose tissues as a result of post-pregnancy weight loss.
In general, these are the complete abdominoplasty steps:
1. An incision is made from hipbone to hipbone between the pubic hairline and belly button.
2. A second incision is made around the navel to remove excess skin in the upper abdomen.
3. The upper abdominal skin is pulled down so that it is detached from the abdominal wall.Excess skin is trimmed and muscle fascia is tightened.
4. The defect is closed after removing extra skin from the abdomen.
5. The old belly button stalk pops out through a new hole and is sutured into position.
6. The transition zones of the abdominal sculpture is refined through Liposuction
7. Any excess fluid is drained by applying the dressing and sometimes a compression garment
8. The skin incisions are closed with the use of sutures, skin adhesives, tapes or clips.
Blepharoplasty
Blepharoplasty also known as eyelid lift is the surgical process through which fat is added, removed or repositioned from the eyelid. The surgery is both a functional and cosmetic surgery.
Upper blepharoplasty surgery uses incisions to remove skin and fat. The skin is then brought together with a thin stitch so that an eyelid crease is created. In lower blepharoplasty skin incisions can be done either directly below the lash line or on the inside of the eyelid. When it is performed inside the eyelid it is called transconjunctival. Transconjunctival is preferred because it does not leave any surgery mark. This technique is often combined with laser resurfacing of the eyelid skin to reduce lines and wrinkles.
Breast Implant
Breast implant also known as breast augmentation, breast enlargement, mammoplasty enlargement, is done to enhance the chest of a woman. It also helps increase the size of the breasts or restore breast volume.
Breast implants are used primarily for:
Rhinoplasty
Rhinoplasty, commonly known as "nose reshaping" or "nose job", is a surgery which is performed to reshape the nose. It can be done to either to improve the function (reconstructive surgery) or the appearance (cosmetic surgery) of nose. The surgery is either conducted by an otolaryngologist (head and neck surgeon), maxillofacial surgeon, or plastic surgeon. Rhinoplasty is capable of correcting correct trauma, birth defects or breathing problems. This can be performed with other cosmetic surgeries such as chin augmentation to enhance the aesthetic results.
